You don't own an Apple-][, but an Apple-][-card in a Macintosh
Version 2.1Beta5 supports the Apple-][ card
Make sure (in the IIe card control panel) to configure the SSC is emulated in Slot#2 and set the parameters correctly (9600 baud, 1 stop bit, no parity, other stuff off).
You should be able to use a standard printer-cable to do the transfers.
Your Macintosh doesn't have a serialport
Version 2.1Beta supports the KeySpan USB adapter. Check the Control Panel 'Keyspan USA28 Assistant' to see if the KeySpan is indeed configured to emulate the printerport.
Also make sure you select the printerport in ][2Mac. Use port 1 on the KeySpan.
You don't know what slot# or drive# to choose on an Apple-//c
The internal drive of an Apple-//c is: SLOT 6, DRIVE 1
You don't know if you should use line 20 or 21 for your local settings
Either line is fine... One note though... If you change settings in line 20, then make sure all other settings are left untouched.
It may therefore be better to use line 21 for your own settings. Definitions in line 21 simply overrule those in line 20.
You want to run ][2Mac on an Apple IIgs
Because the Apple IIgs uses a completely different chip to drive the serialports there was no support for the Apple IIgs on pre-2.0 versions of ][2Mac, but... IIgs-to-Mac transfers are already there in 2.0...
You can startup floppy-transfers from the Apple-][ to the Mac, but...
The transfer stops because of a disk-error on the Apple-][ floppy
You can force ][2Mac to go into standard 35 tracks x 16 sectors mode AND force it to ignore bad sectors (it will continue as if bad sectors were OK) by adding to line 20 or 21 of ][_TO_MAC (versions 1.2.3 and higher) the following piece of BASIC-source: :AL=2
AL=0 means ONLY SECTORS that are 'in use'
AL=1 means ALL SECTORS, no matter if they are 'in use' or not
AL=2 means ALL SECTORS, (just like AL=1) but also CARRY ON EVEN WHEN A SECTOR WAS NOT READABLE
That may (or may not) help you to successfully transfer a given floppy... If it doesn't... Sorry...
][2Mac was not designed to 'on the fly' repair faulty disks...
You cannot see the BASIC-program come in on your Apple-][...
When you see the Macintosh sending out a BASIC-program to the Apple-][ and nothing seems to happen on the Apple-]['s screen, then the only thing I can think of is a bad connection between the Macintosh and your Apple-][. This may be caused by a bad cable, a cable in the wrong port (on either the Macintosh or the Apple-][), a wrong port being selected on the Apple-][ (e.g. IN#3 instead of IN#2) or maybe, but not very likely, a defective Macintosh port or Apple-][ serial-card. Also, this may be caused by a serial- interface that works on a linespeed that ][2Mac does NOT support (yet). Verify this by typing IN#2 on the Apple-][ and then using the different items under the 'Test link at...' menu of ][2Mac. Try to set your serial-interface's linespeed to 9600 bps and 8 databits. If you don't have the 'Test link at...' menu then download ][2Mac v1.2.2 (or higher)

You may be trying to get things to run under ProDOS, which is not supported (yet)
Also, you may be trying to get things to run under MacOS 6 or older, which is not supported anymore
Make sure you use an Apple-][, ][+, //e, //c or IIgs under either the DOS3.3 or CHE-DOS3.4 Operating System and MacOS System 7 or higher
If you want a pre-System 7 version of ][2Mac, then please send me an e-mail

You may be trying to run ][_TO_MAC under ProDOS, which is not supported (yet)
Start up your Apple-][ using either the DOS3.3 or CHE-DOS3.4 Operating System
Also I'm under the impression that not all Apple-//c's or DOS 3.3's are the same...
][2Mac works GREAT on my //c, but I know of at least one Apple //c, that was hung right after the owner typed in the slot- and drivenumber of the floppy that needed to be transferred...
When I sent him a copy of my DOS 3.3 SYSTEM MASTER disk to try out, he reported that the problems were over, and that the application ran well
So... Make sure you have decent DOS 3.3 up and running!

Send the shareware-fee (EUR 12 or USD 10 in cash) to my houseaddress and I will make sure you will soon get the registration-key, which will enable the grey menu-items.
You can also register via Kagi.com (fee is $12) by using the supplied REGISTER application or by using your webbrowser to register online.
E-mail is the fastest way to send the key over to you, so please let me know your e-mail-address!

Transferring a non-standard floppy simply fails
You can force ][2Mac to go into standard 35 tracks x 16 sectors mode by adding to line 20 or 21 of ][_TO_MAC (of ][2Mac v1.1.0 and higher) the following piece of BASIC-source:
:AL=1 or otherwise: :AL=2

Your System Folder is probably 'hidden' inside another folder, which, in my honest opinion, should NOT be the case...

You use an SSC card, all looks well on the Apple-][ side, but no data gets to the Mac
Make sure the SSC settings DO NOT include "ImageWriter" and "Generate Line Feeds" and the SSC block points downwards to "Terminal" while the cable could be a Mac-modem-cable
You keep getting 'out-of-sync' or 'timeout' errors (on 8 MHz Macintoshes)
I have seen 'out-of-synchronization' errors on slower Macintoshes (like the original Mac, the Fat Mac, the Macintosh Plus and the Macintosh Classic), when they had remote disks mounted. Seems like the Finder needs so much time investigating the remote drives every now and then, that we loose incoming serial-data. I will try to find a solution for that problem...
In the meantime I would say: Unmount your remote disks before starting up ][2Mac-transfers
Timeout-errors that happened on 8 MHz Macintoshes have been taken care of by version 1.2.4
You don't know how to set the switches on your Super Serial Card
The SSC block should point downwards to "Terminal" while the cable could be a Mac-modem-cable
SSC with 2 x 7 switches (U=UP, D=DOWN): | DDDUUUU | UUUUDDD |
